We sent 3 of our translators to the Biomass Expo 2018 that was held at the Tokyo Big Sight on June 1, 2018. They listened to the presentation “An introduction to cogeneration devices of Burkhardt GmbH that use pellet fuel” and had a look at a model of an actual device where the functioning was explained.

Our translators are required to have specialized technical knowledge, however, they rarely have the chance to see the actual devices, so our translators had a lot of questions that the person in charge all answered very friendly.

Biomass energy that uses wood as material might be considered as not environment-friendly because trees are felled to make energy, but that is only one side of the story. Forests that are not taken care of can lead to landslips which can endanger our lives.

Devices of Burkhardt GmbH are already used in several places in Japan to realize an energy cycle of local production.

Forest maintenance → energy made of wood → energy for greenhouses → growing crops → selling the finished product
