For some German technical terms, there is no Japanese translation that fits 100%. This has been a great issue for German patent translators so far. In 2018 a workgroup of the second examination division of the JPO has started to look into this issue.

Since the start of their activities, the CEO of transeuro Yuki Kato has been supporting the workgroup that is currently working on a glossary for technical terms with a German origin.

As a first installment, technical terms for joining and bonding techniques and manufacturing techniques have been discussed. From now we want to provide information together with the workgroup for German patent translators and IP departments of Japanese companies that share the same issues.
