An article about transeuro, inc. in the Japanese Translator & Interpreter Journal
In January the Japanese publishing company Ikaros visited our firm for an interview for their quarterly Translator & Interpreter journal (翻訳・通訳ジャーナル). It features articles about the translation industry aimed at current and aspiring translators.
They interviewed us for an article in their series “Business Partner – Look for an agent!” (ビジネスパートナーxエージェントを探せ) where they introduce translation agencies on a regular basis. CEO Kato explained that there is a stable demand for German patent translation due to Germany being the strongest economic force in Europe and a German translation is required at latest when the patent is granted.
He further put emphasis on the unique structure of our firm. We mainly rely on in-house translators to optimize communication and coordination of translators.
He further talked about how a lot of technical knowledge is required for patent translation as sometimes there are no exact matches for some German technical concepts in the Japanese language, but nevertheless the translation has to cover the same scope of claims.
We are very grateful for this collaboration and hope the article will inspire a few people in their career. The full Japanese article can be found in the April 2018 issue of the journal.
